Zack Snyder may not be as dumb as I thought he was, as Warner Bros. president Jeff Robinov says Man of Steel will “set the tone” for DC characters “moving forward”. Let’s hope then that it’s better than Snyder’s LAST film. Entitled Sucker Punch. Robinov went on to comment that rumors regarding Christian Bale being cast in Justice League were unfounded, and said that Nolan’s Batman films do indeed “standalone”.
The official slate of Marvel’s Phase Two is: Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy, culminating in The Avengers 2. Word on the streets is a key piece of the Marvel villain puzzle is none other than the Mad Titan Thanos. Who? Let’s take a look.
Thanos is a derivation of the Greek God Thanatos, personification of death and mortality. Born a powerful “Eternal” with a recessive “Deviants” gene, Thanos became a racial outcast and recluse. Using bionics and long hours of focus and meditation to augment his innate powers; Thanos raised an army and destroyed those who had rejected him. Declaring himself conqueror of his native world Titan, Thanos became commonly know as The Mad Titan. Reborn with a superiority complex Thanos’ ambition grew with his army, and soon Thanos became obsessed with nihilism and death. Hallucinating an encounter with Mistress Death: Thanos falls in love, and swears to woo his new deity by destroying all living things and bringing the apocalypse. Resolute, systematic, and skeptical with a knack for mobilizing forces Thanos is a fictional painting of a Fieldmarshal Rational. Indeed Thanos knows, as all Rationals do, that knowledge is power.
Fools taking up arms against omnipotence. They rush head-on into Armageddon. So I shall provide them with a most glorious doomsday! The heavens will run red with blood. But in the end, as always, THANOS will stand triumphant.
