I think Artisans can get into physical addiction because they are more likely to take risks with addictive substances, or because they are likely to use a lot.
Guardians and other J's (forgot what Keirsey calls it) will more easily get into a psychological addiction, because habit is comfortable.
Rationals can become obsessive and compulsive. That goes well with addiction.
Yes, and Idealists fall into a love-relationship with the substance when use occurs at the same time as disappointment with others.
Okay, okay! We get the picture already!
You don't have to post it three different times for us to get it!

I get obsessed with specific topics and keep reading about them, especially on wikipedia with the related articles. Somehow the idea of bookmarking the sites and going to sleep doesn't cross my mind when I get "too" interested. I was up until 8 am on Saturday. This problem interferes with things I need to be doing. The specific activity that I'm addicted to changes, but I never fail to spend hours procrastinating on the computer. If I didn't have this issue, I'd probably be close to 100% J.
I used to have a Hearts (card game) addiction. I played it on the computer for hours and hours. I also have a Tetris addiction. It's been like this for almost 3 years now, and I can't stop. I play on freetetris.org. I really, really suck though, no matter how much I "practice". With Hearts, at least I got good quickly and can win a decent percentage of the time.
Yeah, that sounds like the Mastermind type to a T. Don't fall back on arguments about "J" types because that's all relative to temperament anyway. My Mastermind friend spends all his time researching things, but when it was all said and done nobody could bring any obscure topic up that he'd never heard of. Dave even said that he's known plenty of Masterminds like that.
I don't know about the games. That seems to be a Rational thing, to get obsessed with one's ability to do something, from what I've read in Brains & Careers.
