Frasier!

I've watched a few episodes of Frasier over the past coupla days and I was thinking that both Dr. Cranes must be Idealists (at least Frasier definitely is) and the dad's a Crafter Artisan.

Whaddya think? I think Frasier is a Teacher. Niles is either a Counselor or maybe a Protector.

I disagree. :D I am smiling because I love the fact that you brought this up, it tickles me! I love the show!

I think Niles is a Mastermind, and I think his father is a Guardian, either Protector or Inspector. Frasier is a Champion Idealist, Daphne is a Healer Idealist, and Roz is definitely an enterprising Artisan (Crafter or Promoter).

What do you think of that? :)

So, where'd you get Teacher? Oh, maybe Teacher because he is so picky about his home furnishings? And his place is always spotless? Hmm....food for thought. But, I still have to say I see Champion. He is very wishy washy, very coworking too. I'm still guessing that, until further notice. I see a lot of inspirational diplomatic intelligence, the Champion's forte.

I am watching a few clips on Youtube. I had forgotten facets of their characters. Hmm...I will have to give it more thought. I will say that they do play up the sibling rivalry in the show, and with that in mind, perhaps that is where Frasier gets some of his character traits--being a perfectionist first born. That may be one point to reconcile the traits listed above that seem like an enterprising Idealist, and the sense that I have that he is a Champion. He is a first born Champion Idealist. :)

Well you've probably watched it more than I have, especially after getting to know KTT, so I can't say for sure. But I thought I had his dad pretty well pegged as a Crafter. I guess, yeah, I could possibly see him as an Inspector. In fact, comparing him to my ex-coworker that may be true. I just saw him as utilitarian and kinda thoughtless toward others sometimes.

Hm, Frasier may be a Champion, and you know that whole thing better than I do, the reason I thought he was a Teacher wasn't because of how neat he is but because of how actually enterprising he seems to me to be. He seems to have the initiative, although sometimes it might be hard to tell for sure. I just see him as always making the first jump, and being way more directive than inquisitive. He seems more interested in telling others how to do things than just passing on information.

I can definitely see Niles as a Mastermind. For some reason I hadn't even thought of that. And yeah, I'm not offended seeing Roz as an Expeditor at all, she's pretty snarky and badass. 8-)

Okay, I'm about to watch Get Smart with Steve Carrell! I'm so psyched! (It's part of the reason I got it for my Protector BFF/gf - you gotta give smart, y'know.) ;)

Remember the character of Frasier started on Cheers. Watch some of those episodes to get more insight into the character.

I really enjoy Niles, it could be because I identify with some of the Rational traits he shows. There is so much sibling rivalry between Niles and Frasier that it makes it a little harder to see the characters.

Guardian fits the father as an ex-cop. Does anyone watch Psych? The ex-cop father appears to be a Guardian on that show also.

I'd have to go searching for them when I have time... I'm watching Alias lately though whenever I have a spare moment.

Guardian fits him just because he's an ex-cop? So only Guardians become cops? I beg to differ. In fact, the first type I ever heard of making a good cop is mine because we'd love the excitement and rush of the job. I think it could go either way.

Maybe people should give the Crafter type for him a bit more of a chance.

No, not the point I was trying to make. I know some Artisan police, and many portrayals of police on television and in movies are Artisan.

However, rules bound people, keeping law and order does fit the Guardian profile, just like our military Guardians of the year.

In yet another old TV show, Adam-12, the motto on show the police used frequently was, "To protect and serve". I can't think of a more Guardian phrase.

My sister and I have delved into this one in the past and here's what we came up with:
Frasier ENF_ (I do not think that he is written consistently--his penchant for neatness and his natural leading abilities seem Educator/Teacher but his need to be recognized and his uncanny ability to always get into a pickle in spite of himself seem more Champion-esque to me!) Idealist...

Niles INTJ He seems sensitive but really only when it comes to what his family thinks of him or when it comes to the woman in his life (Marris or Daphne). Meticulous, analytical, very smart. Mastermind

Daphne INFP New Age, psychic, a bit flighty at times, healing, text book case! Healer

Marty (the dad) ISTJ Police officer as a career, very practical, doesn't want change, doesn't like any analysis of anything! Inspector

Roz _STP She dates a lot and seems socially well-rounded but we really only see her with the regular cast of characters so it's hard to tell. She seems more Crafter to me than Promoter, though.
