Is there a DR in the house?

Life truly is beautiful.

(smile) Cute. I only recently realized that DR is like Dr.

And Dr. = healer, right? Well, medicine doctor, or healer of the soul.

Of course, it took a Healer to notice. I wish DW stood for something cute. Oh well.

Life truly is beautiful.

How about that for words that seem to connect to each temperament? Or, would you arrange the colors to the words differently?

Brains and Careers (page 39) assigns a symbolic color to each temperament.

Red: Artisan

Blue: Rational

Gold: Guardian

Green: Idealist

After reflection, perhaps the arrangement should be:

Life truly is beautiful.

Idealists seek and nurture their own and other's growth, associated with springtime, hence the color green*. So, I thought "Life" was a fitting word to represent them.

Rationals are always seeking to discover, discern, and define eternal truth**. Studying in libraries (during wintertime) subjects such as outer space--the color blue fits them well*. So, I thought "truly" was their word.

Guardians are very practical-minded, logistical, "bringing in the sheaves" at harvest time, so their color is gold*. And, being practical, I assigned them the word "is." A good, sturdy verb, describing the present facts.

Artisans are always seeking beauty, graceful movement; as Professor Keirsey says in Brains and Careers (page 303): "Artisans are the top aesthetes, outstripping all others in the quest for good taste in matters of beauty and grace and in pleasing the senses of self and others." And their color red comes from the earlier word used to describe them, Sanguine: blood*.

Hey, good one! I like that very much; thank you!

And let me add to the symbolic meaning of the colors....

Green: Growth (as said in Brains and Careers) and healing herbs (some are green, though roots and seeds may not be....)

Blue: Tranquility (the preferred mood* of Rationals)

Gold: Caution (think amber traffic lights, yellow caution slip signs)

Red:
Action, Excitement (the preferred mood** of Artisans)

To me, it means Doctor Who. My all-time favorite sci-fi show. :)
