I just read a handful of quotes actually containing the word Idealism or Idealist. I'll put a few of them here.
An Idealist is a person who helps other people to be prosperous. -- Henry Ford
When they come down from their Ivory Towers, Idealists are very apt to walk straight into the gutter. -- Logan Pearsall Smith
Cynics regarded everybody as equally corrupt.... Idealists regarded everybody as equally corrupt, except themselves. -- Robert Anton Wilson
These are just quotes I read that I really liked.
Never pretend to a love that you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command. -- Alan Watts (I think that sounds like an Idealist thing to say. I've said that basic thing before, stemming from the need to be authentic, genuine, sincere.)
Clarity of mind means clarity of passion too; this is why a great and clear mind love ardently and sees distinctly what it loves. -- Blaise Pascal
Love is not blind-- it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less. -- Julius Gordon
Love isn't a decision. It's a feeling. If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but much less magical. -- South Park
OR
I believe love is primarily a choice and only sometimes a feeling. If you want to feel love, chose to love and be patient. -- Real Live Preacher.com
There are two tragedies in life. One is to not get your heart's desire. The other is to get it. -- George Bernard Shaw (That is an Idealist quote if I've ever seen one! haha)
The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.-- Carl Jung
