Actually, Jango it is the abstract...what we share with rationals...is abstract!

I love that.

Albert Einstein

"To me it suffices to wonder at these secrets and to attempt humbly to grasp with my mind a mere image of the lofty structure of all that there is."

Abstract, what a wonderful word and thing.

I just read a handful of quotes actually containing the word Idealism or Idealist. I'll put a few of them here.

An Idealist is a person who helps other people to be prosperous. -- Henry Ford

When they come down from their Ivory Towers, Idealists are very apt to walk straight into the gutter. -- Logan Pearsall Smith

Cynics regarded everybody as equally corrupt.... Idealists regarded everybody as equally corrupt, except themselves. -- Robert Anton Wilson

These are just quotes I read that I really liked.

Never pretend to a love that you do not actually feel, for love is not ours to command. -- Alan Watts (I think that sounds like an Idealist thing to say. I've said that basic thing before, stemming from the need to be authentic, genuine, sincere.)

Clarity of mind means clarity of passion too; this is why a great and clear mind love ardently and sees distinctly what it loves. -- Blaise Pascal

Love is not blind-- it sees more, not less. But because it sees more, it is willing to see less. -- Julius Gordon

Love isn't a decision. It's a feeling. If we could decide who we loved, it would be much simpler, but much less magical. -- South Park
OR
I believe love is primarily a choice and only sometimes a feeling. If you want to feel love, chose to love and be patient. -- Real Live Preacher.com

There are two tragedies in life. One is to not get your heart's desire. The other is to get it. -- George Bernard Shaw (That is an Idealist quote if I've ever seen one! haha)
The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.-- Carl Jung

Found one I felt applied to me recently..... something I get 'criticized' for by people who don't know me (and some who don't really like me I should add). Some people assume if your life is falling apart, and you've made mistakes, that you should go around hanging your head down and be 'sad' all the time to show that you are 'sorry'. Well I've had lots of practice at being resilient in the face of 'issues', and I refuse to play the 'poor me, sad me' part. So, I was happy to read this quote, and it reminded me of Idealists' temperament being described as Enthusiastic in Brains.

Success in life consists of going from one mistake to the next without losing your enthusiasm. - Winston Churchill

Enthusiasm, resilience...idealist qualities, for sure. Love it!

Good for you Fuzzy, critisism/negativity is about the person it comes from, what flows forth from the mind and heart reflects their place in the universe. Glad you are you! and not taking to heart anyone else's baggage.

Fuzzy Rocks. I was trying? to talk to you over in Fuzzythread, heh, but I can't get my idealist foot through the door. Hear it is anyway, love your thread and thoughts, really interesting. Thanks.

You are actually so right about it reflecting their own baggage. I actually feel very sorry for them that my recent issues has brought up their past negative memories. I want to say sorry but at this point in time it won't be received well.

Thank you soooo much for your kind words!! I need them more now than ever before in my life. :D And if you were referring to not being able to post a reply in the new forum, I think it is fixed now. Maybe try again. Let me know if not.

Recently I overheard a a communication between 2 boys who were setting up some sort of
fort/hideout/pillbox/hole in the ground that has sticks and pine straw over it to conceal the identity of whoever would have the privilege to sit down in it.

These boys are 12 & 14. I gave birth to both of them.
The 14 year old, bless his heart, is sooooo ENFP.
The 12 year old is Rational of some sort - just trust me on that, OK?

I'm not sure what the subject matter of the discussion was, BUT here is your quote:
"Brilliant, Captain Obvious."

Guess which child said it.
1 hint --> there was no inflection in the tone of voice.
