You are smart too! Yes, that's a spontaneous expression of the warmest kind. Often accompanied by a hug.

After posting the request for being told I'm smart.. I found Erich Fromm's book, The Art of Loving. Keirsey lists Erich Fromm as a Rational. Erich Fromm makes it clear that in order to love, not just feel, knowledge is necessary. He also gives a rationale for love as a fundamental need.
