Civilization 2.0

Michael Shermer is going full blast. The Fieldmarshal Rational is a modern Francis Bacon.

His latest lecture is fantastic. From Civilization 1.0 to Civilization 2.0, what he is missing is any talk of the 8th edge of chaos/order.

There are several other talks I am going to look at that are from the Singularity Conference. >:Y!< :interesting: :NT: :ugeek:
Within which edge of chaos are you?

Along the same line, for thousands of years different civilizations rose, prospered, ran out of energy and died leaving only small mostly forgotten remnants of themselves. Now, thanks to the connectedness (ideas and trade) of the world, the civilizations lose their power and influence but do not disappear into the dark ages. It is like a world civilization and when it disappears, it will likely disappear all over.
