As Did the Dissimilarity..

“The similarity of our inclinations welded us closely together as did the dissimilarity of our temperaments.”

— English translation of August Kubizek comments about his friend.

“He made excellent use of his undoubted histrionic talents.”

Histrionic — melodramatic, theatrical, dramatic, exaggerated, stagy, showy, affected, artificial, overacted, overdone; hammy, ham, campy.  Hysteria — an archaic term for a kind of madness.

There was no doubt he was to become a “deeply serious man.” — That was evident even to August as a young man. For Adolf did not have the “typical Austrian” sense of humour. For he was choleric in nature, or in modern terms: an Idealist.

He became a Zealot. A German Zealot. The German people were being humiliated by the French and British demanding Reparations. Then there were those Bolshevik and Menshevik Russians and Germans running around in Munich, and his vision to make “his people” whole again. Lastly, there were some Jews with material goods…

Unity.

That’s what is called Temperament.

The Young Hitler I Knew, by August Kubizek

Elizabeth: Daddy what is he saying?

George VI: I don’t know, but he is saying with great passion.

Passion for unity.

… helping to restore lost unity, integrity, or what Healers call “oneness.” These Healers present a tranquil and noticeably pleasant face to the world, but while to all appearances they might seem gentle and easy-going, on the inside they are anything but serene, having a capacity for caring not usually found in other types. Healers care deeply — passionately — about a few special persons or a favorite cause, [Please Understand Me II]

  1. It seems nearly all politicians are very good at pretending to be Idealists. The dominant characteristic of modern world leaders is Psychopath/Sociopath, a person without a conscience. So, Hitler was just another man without a conscience, a psychopath, wearing the mask of Idealist.
A true healthy Idealist does not kill defenseless productive people to get what he wants. A psychopath without a conscience harms any and all to get what he wants.
True healthy Idealist leaders are usually assassinated. Think Joan of Arc, Mahatma Gandhi, John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr, Olaf Palme. Why? Because they are too popular and effective in their efforts to make the lives of the populace better. In other words, they anger the psychopathic leaders who want it all for themselves.
So if David Keirsey wishes to call Adolph Hitler an Idealist, I think he really has ignored the more dominant aspect of Hitler’s Temperament. NO CONSCIENCE! Adolph Hitler was a man without a conscience, a psychopath, who killed millions of harmless defenseless people to achieve his goals.
I have a copy of Please Understand Me II and this article seems in direct opposition to Please Understand Me II.
Of course, we can always re-define Idealist Healer to Psychopath and then it all fits! Yes, Idi Amin and Josef Stalin and Pol Pot were also Idealist Healers! UGH!
Idealist Healers simply do not become “the most powerful and terrible tyrant and conqueror of modern history” Period. That is the typical job for Psychopaths. That term Psychopath, trumps any and all other traits or temperaments a person may have or pretend to have.
This article is just outrageous in calling Hitler an Idealist Healer! Is this a joke? Some kind of twisted political correctness? What?!
An Idealist Healer has a very well developed conscience. An Idealist Healer is altruistic. A psychopath has no conscience. A psychopath has no understanding of altruism.
Hitler in no way fits the overview of an Idealist on this page:

    1. Who ever said Hitler was a “healthy” Idealist? Psychopathy and sociopathy are DISEASES that can affect anyone of any temperament.

  2. Healer Idealists (I’d like to add) are also advocates. Hitler certainly advocated. Hitler came to think that the Jew “swine” were the ones responsible for causing Germany to lose to France. His vision wasn’t complicated. He wanted Nationalist Socialist Germany full of his perfect Ayran race. Who says a Healer Idealist can’t advocate for their own vision?

Psychopathy and Sociopathy are VARIABLES in a person’s personality. For example, there are sociopaths that are excellent piano players, skilled athletes and smart doctors that can pin-point diseases after other NON sociopathic doctors have failed. Psychopathy albeit an important factor when considering a person’s behavior, does NOT soley define them.

It’s very possible Hitler could have been a Healer Idealist that also contended with a psychopathological disease. Maybe the inner conflict is what drove him to kill himself. Remember he didn’t do what he did to get rich. He did it because I truely believe he thought he was doing his country a favor. He had a personal attachment to Germany and he created a VERY personal, subjective, perfectionist vision of what Germany COULD BE and set out to make it happen.

  3. C.S. Lewis once said that an evil person who is knowingly being evil is less dangerous then an evil person who thinks he is being good. The former stops being evil when he is tired of it but the later is likely to feel a duty to be evil. So yeah. “Idealist” is perfectly sound. Idealists have to watch their strong and weak points too just like rationals, artisans and guardians. Few idealists are likely to be Hitlers obviously just like few artisans are likely to become professional assassins, etc. But that is not the point.
